Meet the rebel of the cellar. Nico Lazaridi The Black Sheep Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is a confident, aromatic white wine from the acclaimed Drama region in northern Greece — a wine-growing area celebrated for its continental climate and mineral-rich soils. This playful yet sophisticated blend combines the zesty, herbaceous character of Sauvignon Blanc with the body and texture of Semillon, resulting in a wine that is both refreshing and complex. Winemaker Nico Lazaridi has long pushed boundaries in Greek viticulture, and The Black Sheep is no exception.

What Makes The Black Sheep Special

Unique varietal blend: Sauvignon Blanc brings citrus, green apple, and fresh herb aromas, while Semillon adds a creamy, honeyed depth that sets this wine apart from single-varietal bottles.
Drama region terroir: Cool nights and warm days in northern Greece produce grapes with excellent acidity and expressive character — hallmarks of the Lazaridi estate style.
Approachable yet complex: Elegant enough for a dinner party, lively enough for a casual evening — a true all-rounder with real personality.
From a legendary Greek winemaking family: Nico Lazaridi is the creative force behind iconic labels like Château Nico Lazaridi Magic Mountain White Wine and the elegant Château Nico Lazaridi Rosé.

How to Enjoy The Black Sheep

As an aperitif: Serve well chilled alongside olives, feta, and mezze — the crisp acidity is a perfect palate-opener.
With seafood and light dishes: Pair with grilled fish, prawn saganaki, or fresh salads. Also wonderful alongside the aromatic Alpha Estate Sauvignon Blanc for a side-by-side Greek wine tasting.
With soft cheeses and vegetable dishes: The Semillon component makes it a brilliant match for goat's cheese, courgette fritters, or spinach pies. If you enjoy Sauvignon Blanc-driven blends, also explore the smoky Alpha Estate Sauvignon Blanc Fumé or the florally expressive Semeli Estate Oreinos Helios Moschofilero and Sauvignon Blanc.
As part of a Greek wine exploration: Round out your cellar with the estate's red sibling Château Nico Lazaridi Magic Mountain Red Wine or the refined Domain Costa Lazaridi Amethystos White Wine.

Greek-Style Prawn & Feta Linguine with The Black Sheep — Cook linguine al dente. In a pan, sauté garlic and cherry tomatoes in olive oil, add peeled prawns and cook until pink. Stir in crumbled feta, a handful of fresh basil, a squeeze of lemon, and a splash of your Sauvignon Blanc Semillon. Toss with the pasta and finish with black pepper. Serve immediately — and pour yourself a chilled glass alongside. For a fun Greek wine pairing evening, also open a bottle of Domain Costa Lazaridi Château Julia Chardonnay White Wine or the unique Kechris Retsina Tear of the Pine White Wine to compare styles.
